ASM Engineering selects PRE Technologies for FE and CFD analyses
Thursday, October 15, 2015
PRE Technologies obtains the contract for finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics analysis for tunnel ventilation ducts and transformations in the context of a Crossrail project.
Starting October 15, 2015 PRE Technologies and ASM Engineering agreed on a collaboration on the design and analysis of duct transformations for fan ventilation systems for the London Underground. The job specification included a full thermo-mechanical stress assessment of the ventilation system under the relevant operational and accidental conditions, as well as the fluid dynamics performance of different transformation geometries.
Full FEA thermal and mechanical coupled models for stress assessment under a variety of loads will be performed in order to obtain the transformation response. Additionally, the fluid dynamics performance of different fan/transformation configurations will be assessed with the objective of estimating the pressure drop.
ASM Engineering Ltd was established in 1980 and remains a privately owned company. Originally the company was based in Luton, Bedfordshire with a manufacturing facility of 6000sqft. With growth came the need to relocate to larger and more appropriate premises. Hence in 2005 ASM move to Hitchin in Hertfordshire, which afforded better office accommodation and a 20,000sqft manufacturing facility.
PRE Technologies possess vast experience in thermal, stress and fatigue calculations for HVAC systems, including fans, ducts, transformations and open spaces.
