PRE gets the contract for FEA product optimisation for Mitek Industries

Starting February the 15th, 2016, PRE Technologies and the Mitek Industries agreed on a collaboration for the design and analysis of a new metal webbing for their Posi-joist product. The job specification included a full mechanical assessment of the structure, including timber beams, metal web connectors and supports, under the specified working conditions.

Full mechanical FE analysis will be required to obtain the expected response of the structure under a variety of operational and accidental loads. The wood will be correctly characterised and modelled in order to realistically capture its inherent anisotropy.
